Qiku enters India with Terra 808
A young Chinese company Qiku (pronounced at Chikoo) has managed to create some ripples, if not waves in China and India. They have introduced a few models across segments and they have decided to enter India with their flagship model, Qiku Terra 808. The QiKu brand is owned by Qihoo 360, a security software firm.
The QiKu Terra 808 is a 6 inch phablet with Full HD resolution support and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on Snapdragon 808 processor. It has 3 GB or RAM and 32 GB or internal memory. Storage can be expanded up to 128 GB with a microSD card. It has 13 MP dual camera on the rear, which they call the Duoscopic camera. The primary camera boasts of fast focusing and is capable of 4K video recording. The front facing camera has a 8 MP sensor.
QiKu Terra 808 is made of Magnesium Aluminium alloy body with matte finish. The fingerprint sensor placed at the back claims to be one of the fastest sensor and it can unlock the device in 0.5 seconds. QiKu Terra 808 has a custom skin called the 360 OS running on top of Android 5.1.1. It is powered by a 3700 mAh Li-Io battery and supports quick charging.
For sales, QiKu follows a hybrid strategy. If you have an invite, the device would cost you Rs 19,999 and if not you must shell Rs 21,999 and it is exclusive to NDTV Gadgets 360.
