T-Mobile USA shows off G2x smartphone and HSPA+ speed to 42Mbps
T-Mobile USA, though acquired by AT&T, continues its relentless love for Android devices. They have smashed rumors about a T-Mobile iPhone and mentioned that “We do not offer the iPhone. We offer cutting edge devices like the Samsung Galaxy S 4G”. This statement is a proof of their staunch support for Android. They also went a step ahead and officially announced Android 2.2 powered T-Mobile G2x ahead of the CTIA this year. G2X is a device manufactured by LG and powered by 1GHz NVidia Tegra 2 dual core processor. It sports a 4 inch display and a 8 MP camera. It’s a rebranded LG Optimus 2X, but there is no word about the availability of Android 2.3 on it.
T-Mobile also announced that their super speed 4G network will be available in many cities in USA like Las Vegas, New York and Orlando, with Long Island, Northern New Jersey and Chicago close behind.m They also introduced the portable hotspot device manufactured by ZTE that’s capable of speeds upto 21 Mbps. The Rocket 3.0 usb dongle also manufactured by ZTE will stretch the speed limits in the T-Mobile LTE networks by upto 42 Mbps. Speaking of 42 Mbps connections, an honest and high QoS 1 Mbps connection in countries like India is still a fantasy.
